Aleksandra Zamarajewa

PhD student at (Graduate School for Social Research), Institute of Philosophy and Sociology Polish Academy of Science (Warsaw, Poland).

In the January - March 2011 she has a residency fellowship at the CISR during which she workes on her project 'Longing for Soviet Images. Nostalgia in Symbolic Politics in Russia (2000-2008)'. The research problem consists of finding out the process of construction of the nostalgic narrative and its key elements in a discursive dimension of symbolic politics during the presidency of Vladimir Putin. During the analysis it is supposed to show that symbolic forms of the past are evoked not in order to express its old meanings, rather than new relevant content adjusted to post-Soviet reality.
