GENDER STUDIES
'Gender studies' is one of the main research initiatives of the Centre. This research area includes studies of sexuality and reproduction, female participation (in economic, political, and civil contexts), gender socialization, and ecological movements from a gender perspective. Recently, the field has been supplemented by research on masculinity, the gender aspect of migration processes, gender relations in rural communities, and reproductive technologies. CISR is a member of the research network on women and gender studies (NIKK).
