The Art Society of Curators invites you to the opening of the international video art exhibit about migratory culture “A Meeting with “the Other.”
The opening will take place the 10thof October at 18.00 at the Peter and Paul Fortress, Nevskaya kutina (right side).
Exhibit dates: 11-29 of October 2011
The video works of cultural theorist and video artist Mieke Bal (Netherlands) and a new video by the Russian collective “What is to be done?” “Museum Songspiel. The Netherlands 20XX” will be featured in the exhibit.
The project will be supplemented by an extensive complimentary program which consists of a series of open lectures by Mieke Bal, participants of the collective “What is to be done? ” and other international and Russian specialists (artists, sociologists, anthropologists, culturologists), who one way or another cover the issue of migration and the interaction of cultures in their works and research.
