A research institute oriented to the international scientific community, CISR has an extensive network of partners around thešworld. For the most part, CISR's partners are comprised of research organisations, including institutes, universities, independent centres, and also diverse NGOs, with whom the Centre regularly and closely works. The majority of partner organisations are located in Germany, Finland, Great Britain and the United States.
Our contacts in Russia and the countries of the CIS are very important to us. Our Centre initiated the creation of several research centres in Russia and actively supports contacts with colleagues in the Southern Caucasus.
Senior colleagues at CISR serve as members of international research networks, and the Centre regularly works to create networks with organisation-partners, broadening their geographic scope and research directions.
Over the years CISR has successfully managed to work in the sphere of academic social research in Russia, while maintaining its independence from state and commercial structures. To a significant degree, we believe that this is thanks to our established partner relationships, and to numerous time-tested joint projects.
CISR is a member of several international research networks:
- European Association for Research on Transformation (EART e.V.)
- Civic Culture Forum, the network of researchers established to advance the study of civic culture in the countries of thešformer Soviet Union
- Micro Perspectives on Post-Soviet Transformations, the Nordic network for scholars in the field of Russian and Baltic studies
- Nordic and East / Central European Network for Qualitative Social Research
- NIKK, the network of northern countries devoted to women' studies and gender research
